Marie Antoinette - synopsis

by Ed Wilson

A man walks into the pub and plays some old songs on the piano. You're fascinated, because you're trying to put a rock group together and he seems to know material you thought was almost your own property.

He doesn't show himself very often, and you don't quite know why you keep looking out for him. Your husband certainly thinks the weirdo's not worth the effort.

The same man, more than twenty years earlier, has his own group and success apparently on the horizon, but he's convinced that none of them want it enough - self-fulfilling failure.

Unfulfilled musical and sexual obsessions mirror each other across the decades, resulting once in breakdown or just disappearance. And the second time?

I'm into a third draft - 80,000 words and counting - which should just about do it. A representative few chapters are available, though they may turn out not to be the first three in the finished article.
