It's nearly two years since Maureen died, and she left quite a hole in the writers' group (you can read an appreciation of her which we published at the time). She had written several books, and publishers had shown some interest, but one of the many sadnesses of the time was that she hadn't seen her name in print.
Her husband Steve did not want her work to be forgotten, and now we can all read her first novel Boxing clever - now available through all the usual channels. We can also contribute to the fund which Steve set up in her memory (all the money is used by the Christie hospital in Manchester for clinical trials and research into the early diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer).
And now we've seen the book it's time for a brief review.
